As many of you know, I love Courtney. This is a fact. So it follows that I would also spend a day with her in D.C. This was a great decision and consequently a fabulous day. We started our morning off by hitting up the Holocaust Museum. This is by far one of the greatest museums I have ever been to. The displays are incredible and the physical organization and flow of the exhibits is unmatched. We first saw the temporary propaganda exhibit in the basement of the museum. Now I know what you are thinking, "There's no basement in the Alamo..." and you would be correct. There is no basement in the Alamo, but there is one in the Holocaust Museum. It was a nice way to start out the tour because it set up the foundation of all the campaigning that led up to the Holocaust. Very chilling but very informative. Then we went to Pret to eat and stopped in at the Ford Theater afterwards. We didn't tour it, but we did explore the gift shop which is always a genius idea. Afterwards we did a whirlwind tour of the American History Museum. SO MUCH FUN!!! We saw Lincoln's hat, the star spangled banner, Julia Child's kitchen, some muppets, some ruby slippers and a few other great treasures. We then headed over to the Washington Memorial where we had a date with destiny. (Okay, so it was just a scheduled time to go up, but I think that a date with destiny sounds far more romantic!) There are some great views up there, unfortunately, it was an overcast day, which would normally be fantastic in my book, but we were looking forward to watching the sunset from on high and getting some breathtaking pictures. Rather, we got some great pictures and had a good time anyway. Afterwards we were pooped and caught the metro home in time to hit some rush hour traffic. Thanks for the beautiful day in D.C.!
I have an ongoing relationship/love affair with the tomato, brie, and basil sandwich. So happy to be reunited once again.
The rush hour traffic
Many thanks love!

Oh it was such a grand, cussin' good day! I'm so glad we did it! You know...I'm here full time.
And PS. I love you, too.
Oh Katy Kathryn why don't you live closer?
Yet another super-dooper blog post. Very complete, and instructive, and fun, and witty, and well-illustrated, and....
