We went into the city early in the morning and went straight to the capitol for a little (literally) tour, followed by a day of sightseeing and hilarity. I believe that the pictures say it all.
The ascent into the big city
The bored capitol worker.
The Brigham Young chilling in the corner...
The shoes that were made for walking
The botanical gardens and their interpretation of the various buildings on the Mall.
The Smithsonian Castle (Or something...)
The admirer of natural beauty.
The Native American Museum
The alien vortex that takes you up to be probed.
The cool display of luggage sculptures inside the Native American Museum.
The cool family portrait with the Virgin Mary and the Baby Jesus.
The thrilling surprise exhibit.
The Museum of Natural History. (Where's Anna?)
The coral displays made of crocheted materials
The Courtney with her complimentary water bottle as an apology for being such asses at the National Capitol.
The Hastings and the Menonites? on the way to the Washington Monument
The unlit Lincoln Memorial
The unkempt water feature between the Washington and Lincoln Memorials
The Anders.
It was another fabulous day in dreamy D.C.

cuss it was fun!
Oh it was such a cussin' good day. Thank you for the waterbottle...I'm glad someone is trying to smooth over my relationship with the Capitol.
PS...I'm glad the aliens let you come back to earth following the probing.
What an incredibly fun post! And I like the way you title your photos below followed by a space -- nice sense of graphic design dude!
And, oh my, was the macrame coral a treat and Pre Raphaelites and Vermeer and and and. I am almost swooning with rapture!
D.
"Bored Capital Worker" hahaha. I miss you and your hilariousness.
(By the way, the WWII memorial is one of my favorite places in DC. there wasn't time to go the last time I went and I was so bummed!)
