Facebook Fast

I have been obsessive about Facebook these last few weeks in my need to connect with people and feel that it is an unhealthy addiction. I am therefore going to try and be Facebook free for the month of March and see how it goes. There may be some withdrawls, but hopefully I will be able to kick the addiction and focus more on blogs. I not only want to be more actively involved in blogging but also be a better viewer of other people's delightful blogs. All the people that I really love have blogs anyway... so peace out Facebook!

Chinese New Year

Hilary had us celebrate Chinese New Year by decorating clementines like Tigers. I happen to be an Ox but that didn't stop me celebrating Tigers.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Valentimes Day

Valentines Day was nice. I woke up and found that St. Valentine had bought me a new purse and a little goody bag! Then I went to church with Alison only to come home to a scrumptulescent meal of heart shaped meat pies (made by Hilary) and some delicious strawberry spinach salad. We also had some tomato basil soup since its red and some yummy see's truffles. Thank you Debby Darling! I also got to talk to my family! I love you all and am grateful you are mine! Happy Valentines Day!

Keomer

Keomer, going strong since 2002. Happy Valentines Day!

Damn Camera!

For Graduation, I received a brand new Nikon D-90 camera. Beautiful! After several months of use it started going screwy. It wouldn't allow me to change the aperture but I could still adjust the shutter speed. This went on for a little while before I got so fed up I took it to Inkleys to have them fix it under warranty. They shipped it to a different state where it took them about 6-8 weeks to "repair" the issue. I got it back and thought, oh great now my life can go back to normal! And it did, for a bit. Then yesterday, I was trying to take some pictures and it started going screwy again!! DAMN CAMERA!

Here's a movie update. I'm going to list the ratings I've given them under the image and if you are particularly curious about my opinion on one of them go ahead and ask and I'll respond.

A Tea Party For Alison

Alison's birthday was on 8 February. She turned 25 and was surprised by an afternoon tea party at her school. The party took place in the back of Hilary's car where hats were provided as well as tea, however this tea party had no political agenda. It was a lot of fun and the spread was delicious! Hand sandwiches (salmon, cucumber, egg, and pimento cheese), tarts, teas, and strawberry cheesecake. It was a bit windy outside so Alison and I crammed in the back and enjoyed the festivities with sleeping legs.

Awaiting Alison's arrival

Happy Birthday to Alison and thanks to Chris for the hats and china, Debby for the food, Hilary for being the mastermind, providing the car, and the yummy sandwiches! And thanks to Alison for being born and loving British tradition!

M*A*S*H

Alison received the MASH series for Christmas and has introduced me to the delightful show. I love Corporal Radar O'reily. Its been a great source of entertainment and usually consumes our late evenings.

Moving to Texas

People's question for me when I tell them I moved to Texas from Utah is "Why?" Because I wanted to, thats why. Alison and I drove to Texas in three days. On the way we had some silly adventures. We drove past a car of two hairy afro/bearded boys and Alison dared me to blow a kiss to them. So I did. Then I made her speed away because of the strange looks we got. After our getaway we were stopped in traffic only to be passed by the same boys. We stopped in Denver at Grandma Gibbs house the first night and enjoyed a lovely dinner and show at Casa Bonita, famous for its live entertainment. There were several highlights (the food not being one of them...) Black Beards cave, the gorilla running away show, and the personal serenade from the Mariachi band. (I requested Cielito Lindo) Then we stopped in Oklahoma and stayed with Maryanne Silver, Debby's dear friend, and then on to Houston via Dallas where we stopped at the grassy knoll to pay tribute to dear dead Pres. Kennedy. The historical museum was asking for $12.00 a ticket and being the somewhat cheapskate, I said, "I ain't payin that!" Somehow I felt a great indignation that as an American I have to pay "a buttload" of money to enjoy my country's own history. RIP OFF!! And so now we're here, living the dream. What dream? The American Dream. Cheers to all of you for your support in my decision to leave family and friends and move to a strange and conservative land!
